WoodworkTableAccessor.to_disk(path, format='csv', filename=None, data_subdirectory='data', typing_info_filename='woodwork_typing_info.json', compression=None, profile_name=None, **kwargs)[source]

Write Woodwork table to disk in the format specified by format, location specified by path. Path could be a local path or an S3 path. If writing to S3 a tar archive of files will be written.

Note

When serializing to parquet, Woodwork typing information will be stored in the parquet file metadata, and not in a separate typing info JSON file. Any value provided for typing_info_filename will be ignored.

Parameters
  • path (str) – Location on disk to write to (will be created as a directory if it does not exist)

  • format (str, optional) – Format to use for writing Woodwork data. Defaults to csv. Possible values are: {‘csv’, ‘pickle’, ‘parquet’}.

  • filename (str, optional) – Name to use for the saved data file. Will default to the name of the dataframe or “data” if not specified.

  • data_subdirectory (str, optional) – Optional subdirectory to append to path. Will default to “data” if not specified.

  • typing_info_filename (str, optional) – Optional filename to use for storing Woodwork typing information JSON data. Will default to “woodwork_typing_info.json” if not specified. Will be ignored if serializing to parquet.

  • compression (str, optional) – Name of the compression to use. Possible values are: {‘gzip’, ‘bz2’, ‘zip’, ‘xz’, None}. Defaults to None.

  • profile_name (str, optional) – Name of AWS profile to use, False to use an anonymous profile, or None. Defaults to None.

  • kwargs (keywords, optional) – Additional keyword arguments to pass as keywords arguments to the underlying serialization method or to specify AWS profile.
